For anyone who has to clear an incident off the road

"This is how you clear any incident off the road in one round and reopen the lane faster, because every extra round costs money"

A free guide for road authorities, contractors and recovery crews. Which product on which spill without touching your asphalt or markings, what to do with the rinse water, and when the lane is truly safe to reopen.

Same road, one round

BEFORE
BEFORE
AFTER
AFTER

Left: the spill on the lane. Right: the same lane after one round with the right chemical. Markings intact.

Why you keep reaching for more product on an incident (and why it slows you down)

Four hours left, then traffic returns. The spill is still spread across the lane. So you pour on more and scrub harder. That feels faster.

It is slower. Too strong or too long eats away at the asphalt. The binder comes with it. The line goes dull or peels off. You lift one stain and buy back a repair.

And the water you use is full of oil. It looks for the lowest point. The drain. It is not allowed in there just like that. At that moment the inspector is watching.

In dry weather the lane looks clean. The first rain brings the film back up. Then you stand on the same spot a second time. Rework is the most expensive job there is.

This is only point 1 of 6. Below you can see where else you lose time and money.

What is in it for you?

The road open sooner

A fixed method works in one go. No second call-out because the stain comes back.

No damage to the road

Dose on the soiling and keep dwell time short. That way the asphalt stays intact and the marking stays sharp.

No discharge problem

You catch the wash water before it runs into the drain. Properly within the Dutch rules.

Less rework

The right product on the right soiling. Once done right is cheaper than twice done half.

The 6 points: each one hits a spot where you lose time or money

Everyone thinks: double the dose lifts the spill faster. But the stain does not go because of more product. The stain goes because of the right product, soaking first and then the brush. More product only works your binder loose and leaves the line dull.

We make cleaning products for the road, in our own lab. There we see the same thing every week: almost every crew loses time and money in the same 6 points. Those 6 are now in a free guide. In plain words. Per point it says: what you look at, how you tackle it, and what it saves you.

Inside the guide you will find:

  • Point 1: the sequence that has you done before 06:00 faster than dosing harder. Soak while you set up the closure, then the brush.
  • Point 2: how to take the marking along instead of scrubbing it away. Soften first, then mechanical work, and the line stays intact.
  • Point 3: where to catch the wash water before it runs into the drain. That is exactly where the duty of care begins, and the guide shows how to stay within it.
  • Point 4: how to bring back and measure grip, so you dare to release the lane safely after an accident.
  • Point 5: why diesel on porous asphalt needs a different dose than on dense asphalt. On porous asphalt it runs out differently.
  • Point 6: how to prove with before and after on the same section that the stain is gone and the line is still intact.

What the people who tried it say

Our customers are contractors, councils and recovery crews all over the Netherlands. We keep their company names private, that is part of doing business. You may read their words.

“We always did everything with the same bottle. The stains kept coming back. After their lab test we work by type. Diesel differently than tar. Saves us the second call-out.”
RichardSite manager, road construction
“I scrubbed an oil trail away and the line came with it. Dull and half loose. Now I soak first and brush with the line. The marking is still there.”
KevinMachine operator, road maintenance contractor
“The inspector asked where my rinse water went. I had no good answer to that. Since then the catch tray is ready before I rinse. I sleep easier.”
MarcelFleet manager, council
“I thought: another supplier. But they asked for a piece of my asphalt and my stain. Two weeks later there was a sample that lifted the oil and left the asphalt intact.”
ErwinRecovery operator
“Half an hour on the phone. I got a step plan I could run with myself. Became a customer months later. Nobody chased me with calls.”
PatrickRoad manager, contractor
“One Saturday after an accident we sat without product. They brought a jerrycan the same day. The lane opened on time. You do not forget that.”

An honest letter from the our lab bench

Dear professional,

We are a Dutch factory. Our place smells of chemistry. We make cleaning products, every day, for years.

Every week people send us their soiling. A diesel leak on open asphalt. Black rubber caked onto the lane. Tar stuck to the sweeper. In our lab we work out which product lifts it without touching the line or the layer underneath. That is our trade.

And in all those years we kept seeing the same thing. Crews pay too much. Not because their product is bad. But because nobody follows the sequence that opens the lane sooner and spares the asphalt.

We always gave that knowledge away to customers. Now we put it in a free guide, for everyone.

Why free? Simple. We hope that after reading you think: if their free guide is this good, what would their product do? That is our whole business model. Now you know the motive, and you can read the guide in peace.

The Cleanline teamOur own factory and lab

Honest: our product is often not the cheapest per litre.

We are open about that. A jerrycan from us sometimes costs more than the one you work with now.

But you do not pay per litre. You pay per job. A product made for your soiling lifts the stain in one round, with less product and without touching your asphalt.

Do the math. One second call-out costs you a crew, a van, fuel and half a day. Take the few euros extra per jerrycan off that. Then you see what the lowest litre price really costs you.

That is why we let you test for free first. Your own numbers convince better than we do.

How one customer did it

A contractor in South Holland stopped the returning stains

A contractor doing road management used the same product for everything. The stains kept coming back and the asphalt looked dull. They started working by type of soiling. Diesel differently than bitumen. Pre-soak, dose, short dwell time, rinse off, catch. Do the math: one fewer second call-out a week is half a working day you get back.

No second call-out for the same stain
Less product per job
No dull asphalt and no loose lines anymore
“We always did everything with the same bottle and the same time. Now we first decide what is lying there. Saves us half a day of rework.”

Questions we hear a lot

That is exactly when the sequence is faster than dosing harder. You pre-soak while you set up the closure. Then mechanical work does the most. Whoever starts over halfway is finished later.

Not if you follow the method. You dose on the soiling, keep the dwell time short and work with the marking. That is exactly the core of the guide: clean without damage.

Catch it or vacuum it up before it reaches the drain. Emulsified oil is not allowed into the sewer or the surface water just like that. The guide shows how to stay within the duty of care.

Yes, but porous asphalt needs a different dose and more attention to where the wash water comes out. The guide gives the difference with dense asphalt.

Nothing. The guide is free. The test sample too. We only earn once you become a customer later. It is that simple.

No. You are not tied to anything. You read the guide. You test what you want. You decide what you do with it.

P.S. Still in doubt? Reading the guide costs you 15 minutes. One stain that does not come back already pays for itself. Every week you change nothing, you drive that same second call-out again.

P.P.S. You get the guide straight in your inbox. No follow-up calls. We deliver to businesses, so we only ask for your email and your company name.
